4th September: Belated congrats to Born of Night, our Featured New Affiliate for September! 2nd September - Congratulations to Element and Fy'Ra, our Spotlight and Community Souls for August! - More edits have been made to the Rules, including a standardized mature topic title marker. - The Rule changes also include the banning of embedded content, including Flash and Javascript applets. Members have one week to remove existing embedded content before it is manually pruned from the board. - The Staff page has also been reorganized. 19th August: "Excessive powerplay or godmoding" has been added to the list of bannable offenses because for some reason it wasn't there already! :o |

c. Joining
Before you start...
Read the rules! Not only that, but you should also read the Roleplaying Guide for all kinds of information related to the game. Be sure to familiarize yourself with what the site is about, too. You should register with your character's full name (if you do not receive an email validation, please contact an administrator to have your account validated).
Joining: In Character
To join In Character, create a new thread in the pack lands with your character approaching the borders. Aim for a minimum of 2 paragraphs. Please click here for a joining guide if you are new, or just need a better idea of what to do!
In the topic title or description, the word 'joining' or letter 'j' should be clearly defined. You will be greeted by a border patrol or one of the leaders, and accepted or denied IC'ly. In most cases, your character will list their skills or talents, and explain why they wish to join. Most IC threads only last a few days, so if you reply quickly, you may be accepted in no time.
Post the following form, as well as an initial post of your character entering the lands:
Joining: Out of Character
Some packs may allow you to join Out of Character. Ensure that you check the pack's policies regarding joining; IC joining is the favoured method of joining. When joining OOC'ly you will need to provide detailed information (physical description and biography) in your profile OR three previous examples of written roleplay.
To join OOC'ily, post the following form in the pack forum. Please take some time to work out the information in your character's profile. For the biography, a minimum of two paragraphs is expected. For the appearance, please take heed of the RP Guide. At least a paragraph is expected when writing out your character's appearance. If your character is a Luperci, please describe its three forms (lupus, secui, optime), as well as which form he or she favors.
Types of Species Allowed
In the past, there was a distinct divide between the wolf packs and the singular coyote clan. However, after several generations, 'Souls has become populated with a score of hybrids and mixbreeds, forcing all packs and clans to accept a wider variety of canines. Currently, ALL packs accept coyotes, hybrids, and other canines. Inferni is the only pack that does not accept wolves and has a strong preference for coyotes and coyote-dominant hybrids.
Joining as a Loner/ Creature
Joining as a loner or creature can only be done OOC'ly. Any canine (that is, a creature of the genus Canis) will be titled as a Loner, and any non-canine (eg: cougar, fox, crow, ghost, etc) will be titled as a Creature. To join, post the OOC joining form in Roleplay Related with the the word 'joining' or letter 'j' clearly defined. Please note that puppies (canines under seven months of age) cannot be Loners without a designated adult guardian.

- You may create either a Post Log or a simple list of the threads you're a participant in to help keep track of your threads. Post either a link to your log in the Profiles and Archive Listings or keep a simple list in your forum profile.
- You must fill out your character's profile to the best of your ability. You may edit your profile in the UCP or make a thread in the Profiles and Archive Listings with a full, detailed profile of your character.
- You must create or join an in character thread within five days of your acceptance.
- Removal based on inactivity is done at the discretion of 'Souls Assemblage, who conducts regular sweeps. The absentee policy is described here.
