Joining Read the rules! Not only that, but you should also read the
Roleplaying Guide if you're new to roleplaying wolves in general. It would be really good if you read the entire website, but it's not a requirement. But really, we don't have this set up for nothing -- all of the information on this website is helpful and will assist you in being accepted at 'Souls. The chance that you will be accepted increases by a lot if you read what you're supposed to from the website.
Initial Acceptance
- Create or choose a character. You do not need to create an entirely new character for 'Souls. You may bring characters from another roleplaying game provided you properly alter that character's history to match 'Souls's alternate reality of a human-free, post-apocalyptic setting. You can also pick pre-made characters -- that is, friends, relatives, or puppies of existing characters. Listings of all current available characters appear in the Roleplay Related forum.
- Register on the forum. Your username should match the name of your character. Don't register with extra letters like "x Serena Redwolf." Also, make sure that your character's name is correctly capitalized (not doing so will increase the chances that we pass you over as a spambot).
- Decide what you will be joining as: a pack wolf, lone wolf, clan coyote or creature. It is encouraged for members to join as pack members, rather than lone wolves.
Joining a Pack/Clan
- Create a new topic in the pack's forum with the word 'joining' or letter 'j' clearly defined. Post the following form, as well as an initial post of your character entering the lands:
- Character Name:
- Character Birthdate (including year):
- Whether s/he is a regular wolf or a Luperci (not applicable to non-canines):
- Species (not applicable to canines):
- Gender:
- Your e-mail:
- A secondary form of contact (AIM, MSN, Y!M).
- How did you learn/hear about 'Souls?:
- Initial post:
- Some packs may allow you to join OOC'ily. Ensure that you check the pack's policies regarding joining; IC joining is the favoured method of joining, but some may allow for you to join OOC'ily. Please check the pack forums to see which packs allow OOC joining. In this case, you will need to provide detailed information, rather than joining and having your character met with another. To join OOC'ily, post the following form in the pack forum:
- Character Name:
- Character Birthdate (including year):
- Whether s/he is a regular wolf or a Luperci (not applicable to non-canines):
- Species (not applicable to canines):
- Gender:
- Your e-mail:
- A secondary form of contact (AIM, MSN, Y!M).
- How did you learn/hear about 'Souls?:
- Detailed physical description
- Detailed biography:
Joining as a Lone Wolf/ Creature
- Wolves join as lone wolves; coyotes and other creatures may join as creatures. Do note that spots for joining are limited. To join, post the following form in Roleplay Related with the the word 'joining' or letter 'j' clearly defined.
- Initial post or three past examples:
- You may provide a post of your character entering the lands of 'Souls or provide three past roleplaying examples.
Pre-Made Characters
- Check the Roleplay Related forum for open characters, and contact the person listed as the parent or creator. Talk to this person, and s/he may give you permission to play the character or birthed puppy.
- If you are the proud owner of a new adult Pre-Made Character, you may join a pack or remain a loner. The contact person for that Pre-Made character may have a preference as to where you join; please check with that person. If you now have a puppy, you will have to wait until the character's second month to play because for the first two months of life, puppies at 'Souls are Non-Playable Characters.
Post-Acceptance Process - You are encouraged to create either a Post Log or a simple list of the threads you're a participant in to help the 'Souls Assemblage access your activity. Post either a link to your log or a simple list in your forum profile.
- You must create or join an in character thread within five days of your acceptance.
- Removal based on inactivity is done at the discretion of 'Souls Assemblage, who conducts regular sweeps. The absentee policy is described here.
In order to begin playing another character, you must obtain permission from the 'Souls Assemblage for each new character. We do not have a limit on how many characters you are allowed to play, but do keep in mind that you are expected to maintain good activity with all of your characters and that every time you request an additional character, you are evaluated based on your overall activity with
all of your characters.
Also, please note that if you are currently approved for multiple characters, you may not drop one character and then pick up a new one without renewed permission. Dropping an auxiliary character will be considered quitting as that character, and you will need permission again from the 'Souls Assemblage.
Additionally, multiple characters with the same player cannot be played in the same pack except when
both requirements are met:
- At least one of the characters is directly related (mother/father/child/sibling) to another active member of the pack.
- The leader's permission is obtained.
Those seeking exceptions to the first condition can appeal to the SA, but under
no circumstances may a player have more than two characters per pack/clan.
